ISP's Able To View Your Emails

In a very recent court decision, Ineternet Service Prodivers ( ISPs ) can view your E-mail while it is sitting on their servers. The court stated that Internet Service Providers committing this act are not violating the Federal Wiretap Act. Very surprising, no?
Yes, that's right. Your E-mails can now be read when passing through your ISP's servers.

The current Wiretap Act apparently only covers telephone conversations. For a wiretap to be placed, the FBI or whomever is wanting to do the wiretap must go to the courts and get it approved through them- a lengthy process that includes a lot of paper work.

If they suspect you of something and know that you are communicating via E-mail, all they need to do is go get a search warrant. Yes, you read that last line correctly. A search warrant. Search warrants require a lot less paper work and need much less evidence to get; and that's all the Feds need to see what you are communicating.

However, Congress has already started making the E-mail Privacy Act of 2004 to prevent your privacy from being taken away so easily; and through this act, ISP's will have a tougher time snooping into other's private matters.
